Back Again/Disney Bound
Hi everyone! I know it's been awhile since I last posted and I'm sorry. Emma and I have been really busy and the blog just didn't fit into our schedule. But, we're changing that! Soon we'll be having a Fashion and Frosting new makeover. Anyway, back to the point.
Emma and I have recently come across this website called Pinterest (a.k.a. my newest obsession) and I saw something interesting on it. This girl from Polyvore (Emma has mentioned this before; another fun website) takes Disney characters and creates everyday outfits that imitate the certain character. Above I put Mr. Smee from Peter Pan (Captain Hook's assistant). Here are a few of my favorite:
In case you don't recognize Jane, she is the girl from Tarzan. I actually love this outfit A LOT!
Grandmother Willow is the tree Pocahontas goes to for advice. I just really like the whole feel of this outfit.
This one is probably one of my absolute favorites. Emma and I have a little bit of an obsession with Alice in Wonderland!
If you want to see more click here. These sets are a great combination of two things I love: fashion and Disney. Comment below with some of your favorites!
Love,
Carey

Thick to Thin
Calling all of you that have thick hair! Whether your hair
has a courser texture, or you just have a lot of it, I’m giving you tips
straight from the stylist themselves!
Thinning
This may sound a little freaky,
but trust me, it’s not. For those of you that aren’t really worried about
putting your hair up in a ponytail, this may be the trick for you. Basically, your stylist will use thinning
shears. They move them down your hair which cuts some of the stands. This
leaves you hair thinner and less poofy.
Layers
This is what I got recently. Talk to your stylist about how
thick your hair is and your options. Ask them what they think about layer.
Layers reduce well, layers. It’s a great option for those who like to put their
hair in a ponytail because it all still fits and you don’t have little flyaways
everywhere.
Products
There is a recently new product line called “Biomega”. I
just purchased their moister shampoo and conditioner. I haven’t started to use
it yet, but I will let you know what I think. Before, I was using Tresemme. If
anything, I think this was making my hair moor poofy in the morning. Look around. Ask your friends what they use. Experiment. Find a product that works for you!
Keep in mind that this isn’t an exact science. The best
thing you can do is talk to your stylist. Chances are, they will have a solution.
Also, let me know if you have any tips or tricks!

Horizontal Stripes and Bold Prints
While most of you would cringe at the word, horizontal
stripes are all over and I love them! What else am I obsessed with? Bold
prints! The thing about stripes and prints is, you can wear them on a dress,
sweater, headband, and my favorite: a t-shirt! What is even better, if you wear
them right, they can actually be great for illusions, bigger on the top,
smaller on the bottom, and everything in between. But, how do you rock these
looks without going over the top or even worse… a little wider?
First, TRY IT ON!
This happens to be my least favorite thing about shopping but it needs to be
done. Why buy a shirt that is just going to end up making you look binger then
you are?
Opt for wider stripes, rather than skinny ones when it comes
to dresses and shirts. Same goes for bold prints.
If you are wearing a “loud” shirt, go for jewelry and accessories
that accent, not distract.
Here are some of my favorite stripes and prints!
I actually recently purchased this item from American Eagle. Its a crop top so it doesn't make you look wider on the bottom! Bonus for the fright colors!
This top is from Francesca's. I love the wide stripes and bold color.
This top from forever 21 seems a tad summery, but the dark colors and the contrast make it more winter. Not to mention it has a great bold print! Wear with bangles and jeans!
Of corse I could add pictures of stripes and prints all day, but you won't really know what looks good on your body until you try it! So get out there and rock the horizontal stripes and bold prints! Leave a comment with what you think about the stripes! We love hearing from you!
Love,
Emma
p.s. to all of you who were checking the blog everyday, waiting, we apologize! Thank you for your loyalty and wonderful comments! We really do read every one and love hearing from you!

Inspiration
For those of you that read either The Beauty Department and/or laurenconrad.com, you will know that it is no coincidence that this post is all about pretty, fashion, beauty things that have inspired me lately. No only does Lauren Conrad do a "Friday Favorite" were she lists some of her favorite things from the week, but the Beauty Department has done an Inspiration post recently. So, I decided to take a whack at it:

I promise it will be better next time! Comment or email us with your "inspiration" and you might see it in a post!

Fall For these Shoes
We have been getting tons of requests here at Fashion and
Frosting, and trust us, we are getting to them a quickly as possible. Today’s
request however, comes from Ali. So, today we will be talking about cute,
casual, fall shoes, that won’t break the bank AND are break from UGGS.
When I first saw these, I thought “They’re just a knock off
of Vans” but then I saw the inside… THEY ARE FURRY! That’s right! They keep you
warm and look like vans. Want them? Click here.
I wear these all of the time in the winter. They kind of
replace my boat shoes. They are warm, comfortable, and if you can’t afford the
“on brand” these are perfect! (and between you and me, I think they are cuter
anyway!) Click here.
Converse. One of my fall staple pieces. I wear my red ones
with everything! I have the real ones but you can find knock off ones at places
like payless or famous footwear. Delias also sells them. Find these here.
What is one of my favorite things about fall? Boots! They
can be formal or super casual. I love these over skinny jeans and a flowy top!
Get them here!
Match this flirty pair of flats with a sweet top and ripped
jeans for a fun flirty look. Get ‘em here.
Hope this gives you some inspiration for your school or
casual weekend outfits! And remember, just because its school doesn’t mean you
can’t take advantage of my favorite fashion season, fall! Just keep it classy
and casual! Love this post? Tell us! Have a great idea? Have another type of
shoe you love for fall? Have good ideas? We absolutely LOVE to hear from you!
Comment or email us!
Love
Emma
